555 new cases of COVID, 11 deaths recorded in British Columbia – Quesnel Cariboo Observer

British Columbia reports 555 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 new deaths on Wednesday, November 10.

The province says there are 404 people hospitalized with active cases and 117 people in intensive care. Five of the 11 deaths occurred at Fraser Health, two in Vancouver Coastal, three at Island Health and one at Interior Health.

From November 2 to 8, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 63.1% of cases and from October 26 to November 8, they accounted for 70.8% of hospitalizations.

There have been three new outbreaks in health facilities at the George Derby Center and Dufferin Care Center at Fraser Health and at the Royal Inland Hospital. The province has declared an end to epidemics in Hallmark on the Lake, the Pacific Carlton Seniors Community, Tabor Mano, Amica Lions Gate, the Cottonwoods Care Center and the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia , 29 facilities in the province still have ongoing epidemics.

British Columbia has reached the 90.5% mark of eligible people aged 12 and over with at least one dose of vaccine and 86.4% fully vaccinated.

New active cases by region for November 10:

• 197 new cases at Fraser Health, 1,820 active

• 50 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 505 active

• 114 new cases in Internal Health, 766 active

• 106 new cases at Northern Health, 573 active

• 88 new cases at Island Health, 598 active

There are a total of 4,321 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
