Often times, people think that eating healthy and organic means doing all of your shopping at small, expensive health food stores. Not true! The mainstream world is quickly becoming much more savvy when it comes to eating well. So many consumers are now looking for these items that they have started to appear in many places and often at reasonable prices.
My favorite place in the West Island! I am very happy to finally have an organic grocery store in my region with very reasonable prices. For once, organic shopping doesn’t seem expensive. Great selection of fresh produce and tons of health food specialty items.
WalMart surprisingly has a large selection of organic packaged and refrigerated items. Some items like YoSo Cultured Coconut âYogurtâ are much cheaper here than in health food stores.
TAU offers many great options when it comes to organic food, from produce and meat to packaging items.
Costco as we all know has it all! Including a good selection of fresh and frozen organic foods and because it’s Costco, buying wholesale means you don’t have to shop that often!
Items similar to WalMart and Costco but often at better prices under their PC label than brand names. There is a small section of organic dry and frozen foods and only a few select items only in fresh produce. However, my all-time favorite gluten-free bread (All But Gluten) is sold at Maxi for just $ 2, you can’t go wrong!
I am a big fan of the farmers markets! You not only buy good organic products, but also local products. Many of them, like Lufa Farms, also have delivery services, right to your door.
With a little research, you can start replacing some of the groceries you purchased with organic products without seeing a change in your bank account!
