Here are the organic baby clothing lines we love

Our babies are as beautiful, soft and natural as can be – shouldn’t their clothes follow suit? After all, not only is organic cotton healthier for the earth (not to mention the people who grow and harvest the cotton), but it’s also free from harmful chemicals and residues that we long to keep away from the soft skin of our baby.

Here are eleven of our favorite organic kids’ clothing brands that prove safe fabrics and stylish designs are a natural fit.

As longtime fans of Honest’s durable (and adorable!) diapers and self-care products, we couldn’t be more thrilled that they’ve entered the clothing space. Launching this summer, the gorgeous range of baby and toddler basics includes everything from deliciously soft crib sheets and wearable blankets to comfy pajamas and rompers, all in the sophisticated and colorful patterns the brand is known for. The most impressive part though? The price. A four-pack of their organic cotton onesies starts at $19.95.

Owned by a California-based mother-daughter duo, All the Babies offers an adorable line of baby basics that give back. Their entire line of organic baby clothes are sustainably made in Los Angeles using certified organic cotton, low-impact dyes that are better for the environment and safe on children’s skin, all presented in premium packaging. 100% recyclable. When you’re done with them, just pack them up and send them back. They will distribute them to local families in need.

A brick-and-mortar store in Manhattan that opened in 2002, Estella is New York’s go-to store for luxury baby gifts, from pie-sweet organic clothes to eco-friendly toys.

We loved this collection from the moment we saw it. (Look what we did there 🤣) With no added harsh chemicals, dangerous flame retardants and harmful dyes, this collection is 100% organic and 100% beautiful. We especially love their soft footed rompers, cozy cotton joggers and newborn-friendly kimono jumpsuits.

Looking to stock up? Don’t miss Big-Find Thursday every week on their site – a 24 hour flash sale that takes place on Thursdays at 9am PST and features a different body style, collection and discount every week!

@happyhannas

One of our all-time favorite brands for sustainability, style and customer service, Hanna Andersson doesn’t disappoint in the organic department either. From a collection of stunning organic baby layettes to their signature pajamas, there are so many organic styles to swoon from this beloved brand. And we swear their pajamas are magical – they seem to grow with your little one, adapting season after season!

@monicaandandy

The fabric in which you first snuggle your baby is important. Monica + Andy’s (beautiful) collection is designed for moms and babies by moms with babies, and we all love it because it’s made with super soft GOTS certified organic cotton that’s free of chemicals, lead and phthalates. Newborn pieces feature thoughtful details like mittens and collapsible feet.

@finnandemma

Here, boring designs and toxic chemicals are a thing of the past, while modern colors, fresh prints and heirloom-quality construction abound.We totally agree. Made from 100% organic cotton, eco-friendly dyes and in a fair trade environment, we love the mix of style and durability in this modern collection.

We especially love the Basics collection, an incredibly soft and gorgeous assortment of clothes and accessories, including jumpsuits, zip-up shoes, pants, hats and bibs, all available in a neutral color palette that can work together to create multiple outfit combinations. The pieces are perfect for monochrome looks or to mix with prints for a more modern style.

You’ll come for SoftBaby’s organic fabrics, but you’ll stay for their adorable assortment of prints. From woodland foxes to urban pugs, there’s no limit to their assortment (meaning you might even be able to find something for the struggling new mom). Plus, the name says it all – these suction cups are soft, tender. Get ready for some serious cuddling time.

@gapkids

Organic might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Gap, but this popular brand actually has a wide variety of organic (and adorable) clothing for babies and toddlers. From newborn basics to toddler sleepwear and more, there’s something for everyone in this collection. Everything is 100% cotton, super soft and comfy, and perfect for eco-conscious moms.

Certified organic cotton with Brooklyn-based swagger? Always be our hearts. Winter Water Factory offers screen-printed textiles in bold designs you’ll want to show off (get ready for some great Instagram likes). And the husband and wife co-founders put sustainability at the forefront of their brand, which means you can feel good about your purchase and what you put on your baby.

The company makes everything from children’s clothing to crib sheets (all made in the USA). For even more cuteness, pair their signature rompers with a hat or beanie.

@underthenile

Under the Nile has been making organic baby clothes since way before it was cool. Seriously, they were the first baby clothing company in the United States to be certified by The Global Organic Textile Standard. They have maintained this legacy of high standards by growing their Egyptian cotton on a biodynamic farm without the use of pesticides or insecticides, and all of their prints are made with metal-free colors and no chemical finishes.
