Nature’s Path acquires majority stake in Chilliwack organic food business – North Delta Reporter


A new partnership is poised to take Anita’s Organic Mill of Chilliwack to the next level.

North American organic food giant Nature’s Path announced this week that it has acquired a majority stake in organic flour, grain and grain maker Chilliwack.

nature Path is “delighted” to add the Anita brand to its portfolio, according to a November 9 statement.

“We have been a customer of Anita’s Organic Mill since 2015 and use their flour in some of our best-selling products, such as our Heritage Flakes and Flax Plus cereals,” said Arjan Stephens, Managing Director of Nature’s Path.

The high quality of Anita’s product line, as well as their continued commitment to organic products, has not gone unnoticed.

“We love Anita’s products and we really believe in them,” Stephens said. “We look forward to making Anita’s Organic Mill a baking staple in kitchens around the world. “

Anita’s will retain its own brand identity by joining the Nature’s Path family of brands including Love Crunch, EnviroKidz and Que Pasa.

“For 35 years, Nature’s Path has been a pioneer in the world of organic food,” said Taylor Gemmel, co-owner and president of Anita’s Organic Mill. “And although it has become a global success story, Nature’s Path has never deviated from its mission: to always leave the earth better than they found it. “

Businesses already have a lot in common.

“There are so many synergies between Anita’s and Nature’s Path,” said Jayda Smith, co-owner and general manager of Anita’s. “We also share a commitment to sustainability, making products that are good for people and the planet. We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership and the future growth it represents for Anita.

Anita Organic Mill has grown into one of Canada’s most respected organic flour millers and manufacturers since its inception in 1997, creating a wide range of organic baked goods. It also houses a retail and bulk packaging facility, as well as an on-site bakery that serves as a test kitchen for education and development.

They plan to continue working closely with Canadian farmers as the grains are stone-ground in Chilliwack.

“We are confident that our new partnership will help Anita take it to the next level, while staying true to our roots,” said Gemmel.
