Speaking about the farming process, Singh said: “The cultivation of sugar cane is the predominant crop in our region, so we produce organic jaggery, organic jaggery powder, organic khandsari sugar, natural honey and organic mustard oil. Farmers who are members of our FPO sell their produce to the FPO’s processing unit. Our FPO was developed by (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) NABARD and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) – who provide us with monetary assistance.

And our organic products are also certified by the Uttarakhand State Organic Certification Agency (USOCA) and Onecert International. ” Explaining the product sales strategy, he said, “Initially, we started with 10 farmers, so our products were consumed locally and were not getting the right price for the products. But after we registered under company law, our FPO has 500 farmers and now we get good prices for our organic products.

All of our FPOs (Farmers’ Organizations) keep cows, so there is an abundance of cow dung, and we train them to make bio-fertilizers at home and use them in their agriculture. Therefore, to help the farmers to get the fair / reasonable price for their products, we have created a group in which around 1000 farmers have joined its members and we will expand the number of its members to 50,000 in the next 2 years. We strive to help grassroots farmers and achieve gradual success in our efforts.
