The Dir Agriculture inaugurates a workshop for the promotion of Organic Agriculture, its marketing

Srinagar: Kashmir Director of Agriculture Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today inaugurated a one-day workshop on “Organic Agriculture and its Commercialization” at Lalmandi Agricultural Complex, Srinagar. The workshop was organized by the Kashmir Directorate of Agriculture in collaboration with INVEST INDIA, the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency.
After opening the event, addressing the workshop participants, the Director of Agriculture said that to preserve biodiversity, address the issue of ecological sensitivity in the region and make the agricultural business economically sustainable, the organic method of growing vegetables and other crops would play a pivotal role. The Director of Agriculture said that by keeping in mind the ecological and economically sustainable nature of organic farming, we can preserve our land resources for generations to come.
Chowdhary Iqbal said that organic farming on the one hand is about growing crops without using pesticides, chemical fertilizers, synthetic growth hormones and supporting the use of natural fertilizers like animal manure, l Green manure, legumes, compost, bio-fertilizers on the other hand nurture food that grows naturally with little effort. Iqbal said that the sole purpose of organizing such programs was to address, focus, discuss and deliberate on some of the surrounding fundamental issues and to understand the need for change in the agricultural ecosystem and to come to some of the logical conclusions that will pave the way forward. in the diversification of a trivial cultivation system towards a sustainable cultivation model.
Some INVEST INDIA experts also expressed their views during the show. Speakers highlighted the importance of organic agriculture and other related issues, including promoting marketing, supporting product improvement, boosting domestic trade, facilitating B2B purchases, and more.
